Also I prefer the grittyness of the pixels in BW, the bold black borders make it look more like real videogame models instead of just static images. And indeed they fucking move in-game, the biggest improvement your Pic is omitting, they were created with constant movement in mind like fighting games in which the character is always breathing and bobbing from one side to another.
