I know Zelda and Genshin are often the meme'd about games when talking about, "WHY CAN'T POKEMON LOOK LIKE THIS", but I want to ask honestly: Why CAN'T it?
Like, is it because GameFreak has no one on staff who is good at optimization? Is it because they don't have enough dev time to properly optimize the game? Is it because of all the monsters roaming the area that affect performance while these other games have more empty worlds? Is it because of ALL of these reasons?
I'm wondering what they would have to do in order to achieve these visuals. What tech trickery they would need to do, or how much more time do they need in order to not have garbage, repeating textures. It shouldn't be that hard just to fix textures, right?
