>>55210703>Who's your favorite Paradoxmon?Roaring Moon, but I at least like all of them. Most of my favorite pokemon from this gen are Paradox mons. Iron Valiant, Slither Wings, Great Tusk, Iron Jugulis, Iron Boulder, etc.. love em all.
>Do you think they're a good idea now that the dust has settled?Easily. Not only is it just that sort of cool pseudo scifi-esque idea -- something that Pokemon has inherent roots, thus fitting the theme -- it's taking existing successful Pokemon and expanding on them with a "what if?" type scenario. They get a purposely-strange and cool dino/robotification. It's very "pokemon" feeling. The fact that they were seemingly random in their selection is another plus, as existing legendaries or even NFE Pokemon are up for grabs for potential Paradox mons. I love them.
I also enjoy the approach they took in terms of their competitiveness, though thats a mixed bag. Very generally, they tend to be something of sidegrades to their counterparts (with some obvious exceptions, like Flutter Mane, Iron Bundle and Scream Tail, as theyre all based on shitmons). Salamence and Roaring Moon can coexist, as theyre sufficiently different, and Roaring Moon isn't just a 1-to-1 upgrade, for example. Of course, in execution this hasn't panned out in every case (Donphan probably being the biggest example), and cases like Flutter Mane are clearly overtuned. But you can tell that they sought to keep unique qualities among the originals where they could.. I appreciate the premise.
