>>55223838Terrible bait. If you knew anything about actual British history you'd know that 95% of the population have been under the thumb for nearly 500 years now, their ancestors subject to terrible living conditions all for the benefit of the ancestrally Norman ruling class.
The UK and it's history of the past 1000 years is literally defined to a T by classism and it would've been cool to get a slightly serious (at least for a kids game) story that touches on this theme, like Unova did regarding truth and ideals as well as free will. I suppose they did sort of touch on it in SwSh since the villain is the owner of a corporation who is exploiting the land for profit (this is basically an English invention, so it's good they did it first here).
They could've added an evil monarchy who thinks they "deserve" to rule over the people of Galar too which would've been a cool touch, but they decided to avoid it altogether which I understand because of the potential backlash, as well as the fact that they already sorta did that in Unova.
There was just so much potential with an English region instead of what they did which was a tourist trap Disney version of England which ended up being super bland and the least enjoyable region I've explored so far.
>>55223408It does to a degree but imo it makes it into a cute joke which just rubs me the wrong way, personally. It's not a serious implication which expands the lore of the region like say the original Logging, Weezing and Muk were in Kanto. Or even how Trubbish and Garbodor were in Unova. Galarian Weezing is found in completely random areas too, not just in industrial type areas which lessens the potential impact of the design too
