>>55225060To close this argument I would like to cite a quote directly from Satoshi Tajiri to prove my point on what Pokemon is missing, and why HGSS and the future Johto games may be the key to such.
"From here on out, kids who grew up playing may grow up to be game developers right? And if those kids have the same vision as us then I definitely think it's possible to expand the world of Pokemon by working together with them."
In other words, Pokemon can only truly be great again, if they start creating games like HGSS where they have a standard keyed to everybody, adults and children alike. This franchise is everyone's franchise, not just the children, not just the manchildren, not the kids who grew up with whatever gen, this is everybody's franchise, so saying that Pokemon should only key to the modern child is not only dogshit game design, but it's also dogshit marketing. What made Pokemon so great especially during gens 4 and 5 (often regarded is the golden era.) is because game freak was ambitious, and gave a shit about everyone, acknowledging both kid fans and adult fans alike, and some of those adult fans work for gamefreak, so they know what the fans want. Creating a colorful, soulful, yet simple gaming environment for young children to be immersed in, but still making the games fleshed out and ambitious enough that the adult fans can still enjoy the game having fun, never removing content, and always making sure every feature from before stayed a staple.
That's why you commonly see thousands of people rushing to defend and love HGSS, and most of the hate is from trolls and contrarians who either try to be edgy, bait people tastelessly, or don't even believe their own bullshit. HGSS is objectively the best for this very reason.
