The only reason Unova’s dex was controversial was because of Genwunners malding because Game Freak made Unova to be a magnum opus instead if a blacklisted expansion pack like Johto was. Chandelure is just that good that even Genwunners couldn’t make up a flaw for it.

The only reason Unova's Pokedex is "controversial" is because a solid 90% of the dex is ugly as fuck and/or worse ripoffs of Kanto Pokemon
Chandelure is part of the 10% of the Unova dex that is actually amazing, along with Galvantula. Scolipede, Zebstrika, Volcarona, Beeheyem, and Darmanitan
Pokemon with good designs like Chandelure almost always have staying power

Most people love the Unova dex these days outside of /vp/ still being mindbroken by an ice cream cone more than a decade later. It was only "controversial" because genwunners hated not being able to use Pikachu in the story. A good deal of the Pokemon in your pic are Unovamons.
