>>55223511Primarina's only heavily female coded animation, in my opinion, is the one where it covers its mouth while giggling.
No different than how Hatterene has it giggling while keeping its tentacle in front of her.
I think this is a tolerable amount of this element, because they don't look straight up like women in a fursuit.
Primarina is a seal and walks like one, also swims like one and is reminiscent of a mermaid at most ... Then again, mermaids as a mythological creature were inspired by seals and sea lions,so Primarina's inspiration makes perfect sense for the little bit of femininity it has in its demeanour.
Hatterene is basically a short alien floating a bottle-like flesh bag, hiding its true body with tentacles that happened to look like hair.
I see no valid reason for Meowscarada to act so insufferably like an anime girl, and the reference they made to a 70s character first justify it either for me because it's too niche to be caught by most of the audience.
Plus Floragato, as far as I remember, has none of that demeanour and it seems to act more like a shonen character (it does the rub beneath nose gesture), comes across as being at least partially inspired by a swordsman/Puss in Boots.
Meowscarada's change comes across as unexpected in an unpleasant way, the fanservice isn't even well-integrated in the design because it strays too far away from its inspirations.
Why would a cat act like an anime girl? Why would a trickster act like an anime girl?
It makes no sense.
Even Torracat and Incineroar have more coherency to each other, as much as I dislike Incineroar.
