Basically, there's a trick people do when they want to spout convincing bullshit. They'll open by talking about something interesting and pretty concrete, then suddenly they'll make a huge jump in logic that sorta-kinda relates to what they were talking about before. It tricks people into thinking there's a direct link between the two things. Then you can work backward and present evidence for the new idea, even though the foundation for the idea doesn't exist.
For example, opening a video by talking about religious influences in Majora's Mask, then taking a sharp right turn into "and that's why everyone is dead!". Then going on to talk about what it means if the characters are in purgatory.
