I didn't had friends to play with outside, no money to buy more games (I had more than enough games according to my parents, which is understandable since I live in a 3rd world country and video games are a luxury for the lower classes) and also didn't have internet at home at the time (my parents tried various ISP but there were constant problems with the signal), so I spent most of the time trying to discover everything the game had to offer.
But even then I didn't discover everything and later learned about even more stuff because pokemon fans are autistic enough to almost always include extra content in guides/walkthroughs.
