>>55231527Yeah idk why but it's one of my least liked changes. Honestly I think the OSTs been getting consistently weaker for a while now mainly because of the instruments they choose. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they're doing techno because Masuda's always really liked it, but idk if he still works on music. Maybe it's as an homage. Music is a big part of the reason why I enjoy these games and it's been getting weaker specifically since they got access to full, unfiltered tools when it came to the Switch. They just fucking love that same slapbass, harsh drums and recently techno.
Not to say the Switch games have bad music. There's a lot of tracks I can pick out that are good, but Pokemon used to be a paragon of fantastic music and rarely would we have any duds until recently.
