also the most interesting aspect of amphibians is that they metamorphose so removing that is a setup for disaster. you could make a different looking tadpole from the one you already made.
another thing is that this isn't really appealing to anybody other than people who get the reference. ideally, pokemon shouldn't be locked to purely references, they should stand on their own as creature designs. maybe add a bit more nature into the design, in both making the design have more natural aspects and researching frog species to maybe base it on a specific one, like maybe there's a frog with a distinct appearance or distinct habits, play a bit of mix n' match
