So did it ever get explained how the Loyal Three came back to life and I just missed it or is it a case of 'haha I don't really know'?

But nothing indicates that Pecharunt influenced Kieran. All we've seen Pecharunt do is turn people into mochi retards, and on the complete contrary they go out of their way to make Kieran the ONLY person other than (You) to not take the mochipill.

I couldn't care less about how those three came back to life, or what it is that Terapagos even does. But the whole backstory about Ogrepon is very undercooked. Murder is not a topic that should be treated haphazardly.

As it happens, the previous murder backstory was done way back in Kanto. They didn't beat around the bush about it: Team Rocket murdered Marowak because she'd been protecting Cubone from having its skull stolen. Then Marowak stuck around as a ghost (no resurrection) and wanted revenge. In LGPE, she even got to reunite with Cubone before departing to the afterlife. Simple and effective.

The Ogrepon story is very similar, but it is only implied that Ogrepon's partner was murdered. There is never any resolution with the Loyal Three at least accepting Ogrepon's superiority. Pecharunt just complicates things for no benefit.

If Pecharunt's influence played a part, it'd probably be directing Kieran to focus on them so the Crystal's power brings them back. Though I like the idea that Kieran never lost control of himself and his actions were entirely his own better.
