>>55236412It's essentially just a glorified holding company created to hold all the copyrights related to Pokemon so there isn't any dispute between Nintendo, Game Freak, or any other entity over who owns what. You see that a lot when franchises, especially Japanese ones, become popular. Akira Toriyama has Bird studio to protect the copyrights for Dragonball and his other works, Hirohiko Araki has Luckyland Communications to do the same for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, etc. The Pokemon Company also has an administrative over the IP so that all the branches can coordinate with one another to maintain consistency- making sure the anime/games/merchandise are all set to launch a new generation at once among other things.
