IT was never going to get one. As much as Game Freak worships Sinnoh infernape is already insanely good. It getting a Mega would overshadow CHARIZARDs.

Focus on its mixed attacking potential

Megas like all gimmicks are thought out and executed accordingly. They were never going to continue them passed Gen 6. Anyone who says they feel like they could have expanded on megas doesn’t understand that the megas we got are the ones and only.
