One of my favorite memories from the whole franchise is going around challenging people in real life on the PSS. I love my Aegislash he's my favorite Pokemon

Megas were a big plus. While controversial, I liked having a normal starter as well as a Kanto starter. Made a good team early on, plus the legendaries are badass.

Amie was the greatest addition main series ever made to make the pokemon themselves feel like companions rather than simply tools for battle. You could pet them, feed them, and play games with them (the "make faces at each other" game was especially cute, a shame it only worked right about 40% of the time) whenever you wanted and there were no species restrictions. Only downside was how broken the affection bonuses were in battle.

I didn't enjoy the games but there's some aspects I liked:
>Music is good in a lot of places
>Chibis are cute
>I like the box legendaries even if Yveltal is a bit dumb
>Noivern is based
>Introduced character customization
>Last game that felt like you were actually a kid on a journey instead of going on vacation or in a sports league or going to school

Getting friend safaris from people in person. This was also the time when everyone had a 3ds on them and doing the streetpass spotpass stuff.

It's definitely a huge oversight, but I don't think it undermines the whole reason the feature exists. The point was to support the message that the strongest trainers are the ones who love and care for their pokemon, they tried to give tangible gameplay benefits to spending time and bonding with them but they took it too far and further fucked the game balance (new exp share system was also at fault) in the process. It needs a rework, but it's not a bad idea.

Honestly I get more enjoyment from just calling the Pokémon out of the ball like in PLA. It has the interactivity and immersion, only difference is you just don't rub them to make them show love hearts, they do animations automatically.

It had really good pokemon variety. Every route had a great selection of mons. Also the fact that fossils were pushed in the story.

I liked the minigames for Pokeradar chaining and chain fishing. Nabbed a few shinies through those methods. Really liked it. The music was also pretty good, and exploring Lumiose was cool after the stupid blackout was gone. Even though that was due to Team Flare, there should've been something like "we're uprooting the power lines to fix the problem, and it's a safety hazard so we can't allow the public in until they're fixed" while also showing the windows darkened and the lights in those areas not on at night. And safety tape and cones to show the off-limits areas. And not have NPCs wander into those areas when you can't.
