Between Dawn and Lucas I don't care who gets Torterra, or Empoleon, but not pairing Barry with Infernape is retarded. Also Nemona/Meowscarada and Clavell/Quaquaval fit way too well for Skeledirge to not be the canon protag starter.

This is what i wanted ingame and im so pissed how it played out

It worked out in the end I guess since I never have to see Quaquaval, Skeledirge is based, and its somewhat fitting for Clavell to have a Meowsacarda as an elegant mon

This. We've seen plenty of different universes in the different games, anime, and manga, there really isn't a "true" canon, honestly. When it comes to just Generation 1 alone, for example, there's:
>Red gets Charmander, Blue gets Squirtle, Leaf gets Bulbasaur
>Red gets Bulbasaur, Blue gets Charmander, Green gets Squirtle
>Red gets Pikachu, Blue gets Eevee
>Ash gets Pikachu, Gary gets Squirtle (I Choose You also has a one-off character named Marina getting Bulbasaur, and Tierno getting Charmander)
