Quite a few yokai are dedicated to stillborn children, and it lines up perfectly with Pecharunt's actions. And, while these things are sometimes arbitrary, it explains Pecharunt's Ghost typing, and more organic design... the chains almost look like blood cells, and the innards of the pecha shells are almost veiny.
