Sometimes the dex feels messy to me, and I think back to when I was a kid with Gen 1, and seemingly any random combination of Pokemon could look like a cool team. The style deviates too much for my liking now. I yearn for the ability to condense the dex down, ditching the designs I dislike, refining the ones I'm torn on, improving the ones I see as flawed. I daydream of a sort of purity that only I can define.
But this is not reality. And so, I choose to accept the reality we have, and look for the positive where I otherwise wouldn't. "Rhyperior? Yeah he's not as cool as Rhydon.. but at least it's a tough looking monster!" "Sneasler really is awkward.. but hey, it's color scheme is nice!"
"Quaquaval is.. pretty dogshit honestly, there's nothing good there."
