I don't think it's going to fail. It's already succeeded. If there's a million players already they've made about 15-20 million (Depending on steams share)
It's already a success even if it dies off it made it's money.
The main issue is it's game concept. It's a Ark/rust/survival game with monster catching features. It's not a pokemon clone, it's a ark clone with bootleg mobile game monster designs. The trainers look great. But the Palmon themselves aren't. They would need to hire a group to make most of them from scratch but that's not important right now.
The game is currently the flavour of the month. If it sticks will depend on the community it fosters, it will not topple pokemon as pokemon and palworld are designed for two different audiences with crossover. Do you like survival games? No? Then you won't like the game.
Do you only play Rpgs? No? You won't like the game.
Do you like ark but not pokemon? Yes? You will probably like the game.
It will probably do fine, it'll be an ark style game where it will have its group of dedicated fans, it will probably be picked up for a sequel instantly but be higher quality next time. As for /vp/ Just wait for mod support so you can import pokemon models and sex mods.
