Hitoshi Ariga has been an fundamental Pokémon designer since Generation 6. He has always been a Pokémon fan and also drew Pokémon fanart before being hired by Ken Sugimori because he liked Ariga's work.
He shows a lot of diversity with his designs and he also integrates his preferences like dinosaurs into his designs with the fossils. He probably also designed the Paradox versions of the Legendary Beasts, as he is credited in the credits for the DLC. His favorite Pokémon is also Misdreavus and he was also able to design the Paradox version with Flutter Mane, which again shows that he incorporates his preferences into the designs.
