Now that the dust has settled and the very real success of Palworld has shown to go beyond that of a fad, and very much tapped into a gold mind unlike other clones like TemTem, where does Pokemon go from here?
When Yokai Watch gained traction Game Freak hurried to copy everything about it for Sun and Moon, both the games and anime. Can we expect the same thing to happen again?
I wouldn't be opposed to it. Palworld in many ways seems to be what Pokemon fans have been asking from Game Freak for years. PLA was the closest we've got before they abandoned that and went on to producing their usual low effort slop.
At minimum we should hope this lights a fire under Game Freak causing them to realize they no longer have a monopoly on this genre, and have to genuinely compete for our money now. There's no reason to go back to Pokemon if they continue producing rushed unfinished garbage when better substitutes now exist.
