Xenoblade 2 came out just a couple of years after XBX on a brand new system. It was made on a relatively quick to hit launch window for the Switch. Gamefreak took their sweet time releasing their first mainline Pokemon game and it was completely mogged.

Yes but it's an apples and oranges comparison. You're right, ideally they'd take more time but it is what it is. But within the 2 years of development time they're alloted I'm surprised the games hold together as is
