Part of me feels this game was specifically made as a troll towards Pokemon. Literally “HAHA dude let’s make a knock off of Pokémon and give them all guns!!!”. The developers saw an opportunity and took 110% advantage of it.

Pokemon is a turn based JRPG, if you remove the turn based combat it's not Pokemon.

There's a reason every single spinoff has been absolute garbage, because they screw with the battle system, the worst offender being Ranger with the fucking endless circle drawing.
