>4he Switch gave them a 10m bump.Because the switch was a hybrid console and essentially a fusion of the 3DS and Wii U, bringing in a home console audience along with go normies (Which most especially nowadays are old adults.), go figure.
>But that still means their traditional 16m kids and casuals were added to the home system blow-ins. They still have a weekly kiddy toy advert, still producing cards and toys and other kiddy bullshit to sell at small onesTrue, but most Pokemon content that appeals to kids is the mobile gacha low attention span shit that kids can easily get addicted to rather than the mainline. Why else do you see kids spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on Fortnite cosmetics that don't change the gameplay at all? Why else do you think TPC pushes their mobile slop shit before the meat and potatoes? Because children don't actually play mainline Pokemon like they used to. Why else do you think the DLC catered to competitive older audiences? Because children are more interested in playing games for a small amount of time before dropping it and moving it to the next one, or get addicted to violent shooters like COD. Pokemon was also made with the intention of catering to adults as well. And Satoshi Tajiri's quote proves this:
"From here on out, kids who grew up playing may grow up to be game developers, right? And if those kids have the same vision as us, then I definitely think it's possible to expand the world of Pokemon by working together with them."
Meaning Pokemon was made not only to cater to children, but also the children who grew up playing years ago as well. There is a reason why HGSS is one of the greatest games of all time. It had pretty child like beauty, while also creating enough content that the adults that can enjoy as well. Lest we forget colosseum was a thing as well which was made to appeal to older audiences.
