there was more theorycrafting and metagame analysis threads, more for-fun threads, and genwarring largely centered upon Unova hate
in some ways the board has become more dumbed down and in other ways it has become more enlightened
there's a definite loss in soul with respect to certain activities; there was a guy who used to post threads of mons cut up into pieces and responders were tasked with rearranging those in novel ways, that was very interesting---you don't get that sort of thing anymore
