>>55298357>Pokémon doesn't sell simply because it's Pokémon, but also because it's part of the monster collecting game, which has proven time and time again to be the most profitable "genre" of games and media in general>SV may have sold 23 million, but Pal World is proving the market for this type of game is much bigger than that. If SV were better, they could've reached 35-40 million, as seen with Mario Kart>Pokémon doesn't need to be a classical turn-based JRPG to sell well>Graphics matter>Pokémon won't hold its monopoly forever if GF continues producing shit game after shit game>Pal World will probably die out soon, because its company won't be able to manage its success for a long while. However, this will show other, actual competent companies, mainly Square Enix and Capcom, that there's a huge market for the monster collecting genrePal World will not be the fall of Pokémon, and it will fall out really quickly, but it shows how huge of a market there is for this type of game. However, I believe another competent company will develop an actual inspired Pokémon-like game in the next few years, with good world building and original designs, and that it will be so much better than the current Pokémon title that it might for the first time put the Pokémon franchise in some major risk. My main bet is for Square Enix to develop a PS5 exclusive game.
