>>55308121I'd say Palworld is as violent as Pokemon was back in Gen 1, it's just done in a more self-aware tongue-in-cheek fashion. Back when Pokemon were seen as animals, they were also slaughtered for meat and abused by groups like Team Rocket, guns were also a thing. Then the franchise took off and was promptly cleansed of any and all icky elements.
All Palworld did was bringing those elements back, and suddenly all the millennial "Pokemon fans" started screeching about animal cruelty just like boomers did back when Pokemon first appeared. Very ironic, yes.
