Do you think a pokedex made up of 120 odd digimon would go over well with the pokemon fan base, Obviously assuming digimon didn't exist.

Gotta disagree with this. The change was very gradual, they didn't go from ledyba to orbeetle in one gen. And the formula wasn't made on purpose. Jumping from pawmot to pulsemon is crazy

I mean, Considering what the established norms are currently, I think the digimon designs are pretty good for the most part. But that's mainly because they've basically retained the same aesthetics. Though rosemon definitely wouldn't make the cut.

One problem is that Digimon have six-ish stages.
The baby blobbies are useless and can be cut, but you're still one stage over the limit for a Pokemon line. Cutting Rookie starts you too beefy and cutting Mega removes the final stage cool Digimon.
