I just hate how GF used the excuse of having to make and rig 3D models likenit was a herculean task to pump lower quality games and dexcut.
And even then animations are lower quality than games like Pokémon colosseum etc

Gen 1-4 were pretty much "untampered experiences" but with Gen 5 something changed...

It's hard to put into words - although easy to articulate for newer generations. Gen 1+2 had that 90s feeling and the remakes suceeded in capturing it (despite some concessions like the game corner (but started earlier: the drunk man from original Pokemon Red Green wasn't in RBY)). Hoenn and SInnoh were great adventures on their own regardless.
