Just turn /vp/ into a Monster Catching board already. Pokemon doesn't have enough content anymore to fill the board with anything but 10% discussion and 90% coomer threads or the same art dumps time and time again.
Allowing other MC games would fill out the board with meaningful discussion. And I'm sure /v/ is tired of the Palworld shit too.

Why even turn it into a monster collection board? Just allow for a /qa/-like off topic culture and you get that along with so much more.

Then they can have their mods require that people go to /vg/, as with all games that have prolonged consistent threads consisting of gameplay.

The mods absolutely fucking suck on this board. NO sticky of any kind with explicit rules/ban example, no follow through with board rules (genwars still rampant, non Pokemon stuff seemingly isn't somehow offtopic), and no bans when people deserve it. This board might as well be NSFW with all of the borderline pornographic/fetish threads there are, and the worst part is you cannot find anyone playing any generations other than the most recent one, despite most proclaiming that the nu-gens are the worst ones. Why are there not constant gen 4/5 threads with people seeking other players then?

That shouldn't stop anyone from actually playing them. My example is seeing all of the countless rotation battle/triple battle threads but I have explicitly made some in the past to actually play the games and have had a whole whopping one person respond. Filters exist and mods should just nuke threads when they can just delete posts.

There's Team threads, but you're asking about a console with its online capabilities long since removed, and recreating it requires console-specific hoops to jump through.

It really isn't. People hate Pokemon on /a/, /tg/ is dead and irrelevant and you could easily stuff most of this board into a single /vg/ general. The only times this board is ever active is when a new game comes out or a big shitposting event like Palworld or Ash losing to Alain comes along. That's like once or twice a year at most.
/v/ also gets brigaded constantly and flooded with threads on single games/franchises a lot now, we don't have or need a whole board for Fromsoft games or Bethesda games. And we don't need a board for Pokemon.

Honestly it would be nice to have a "/mon/ - Monster Tamer" board. There's not that much going on with Pokémon until the next major release, plus a board dedicated to similar games in the monster taming genre would be great.
