>>55334166Are you someone who was making similar points about Worlds?
I remember people disagreeing with the steroid analogy but do not recall the argument that refutes it. What was it again?
>(muscles) take time and prep to build>they are needed to compete in [sports]Replace with (pokemon) and [vgc] and its 1 to 1
Another thing discussed months ago was despite how unfair or unreasonable it may seem that doesn't change the fact that they aren't allowing it. How much bullshit a rule is does not matter in the grand scheme of the event, it has to be followed. To ignore that is unsportsmanlike and disrespectful to the other competitors and the league/game. Sure, we both recognize your integrity as a battler isn't in question, if you win with a team of 6 hacked Pokemon you still battles masterfully to get there, but rules are rules. Protesting and complaining are different than agreeing to X and doing Y.
As much as I want the VGC community to flourish and thrive there are other circuits you can play that play off Showdown or allow genned mons. If you have so much of a qualm with VGC why not just go elsewhere? Or even stick to Showdown's version of the leagues? Are you debating for the sheer principal? Do you want the opprotunity to play in live tournaments but disagree with this rule? It's not a factor in the debate but I'm curious.
