I tried reatching the first season in 2016/2017 when SM came out and the entire dub of the first season was on youtube. But that rewatch was more like a skimming through.
Yesterday I watched episode 5, the episode with Brock's gym and holy fuck. Japanese Misty is very cute. I never noticed it before. Maybe it's because of the japanese voice? Japanese voice is also very cute. Or I'm just more into cuteness and I saw girls as just whatever when I was a child.
In my memories Misty always complained about her bike but in the rewatch she only did it shortly in the second episode and at the end of the fifth episode. Maybe she does that more often in future episodes?
She cared more about Pikachu's health than about her bike. And the way she wanted to help Ash in his fight against Brock and how she was disappointed that he rejected her help felt more like she likes Ash and that's the reason why she follows him instead of the bike? Or she is just a very nice girl.
