The only saving grace was Rocky Helmet+Regenerator Slowbro, which brought forth a miracle and allowed me to actually win this shit fight, Aggron managed to hit the Ferrothorn for some minimal damage with Fire Punches, Slowbro came in and blasted it with a crit Focus Blast, surprisingly it actually something for once.

Mine has the Zen Mode ability as a trade off for me using a Pokemon that's "technically" not a Psychic type despite sorta being a Psychic type, but even still, I don't understand how that Fire Punch did so little damage, my Darm has full attack investment and everything. you get a moonstone for 80 captured in your dex, i decided to use it on the monkey since apparently i wasn't supposed to have that (it gets forewarn which is now reworked into being a defensive download that raises whatever defense stat is good agaisnt the opponent) and the other moon stone evo, the sonic OC, gets strong jaw but doesn't get bite until either level 31 or 36 (the latter if i evolve too early)

it wasn't exactly 'hard' but because the game uses rejuv's AI it loves to spam switching so you basically need to figure out what pokemon the AI will swap to if you have a certain pokemon out

the first mon is the grass/dragon pseudo's second stage, most of the rest have been covered

Even on normal difficulty, which is what I played opposed to everyone else, there were absolutely retarded changes made, I went in with a Fire/Flying dual type run by the suggestion of a sperg and the last gym which was Water for some reason got buffed to absurd levels, I think my whiteout count went from something measly like 3 to 5 all the way up to 50 during that fight alone, every single Pokemon had bullshit custom movesets, everything had broken abilities and items to complement them, that stupid caffeine item boosting the speed of certain Pokemon, the illegal EVs making things like a Goodra variant never fucking die, it was nightmarish.

no you just can't use the most forbidden of the 3, basically if you have a staraptor, an alakazam, and a clefable on your team, only the flying type moves would be banned, you could still use your psychic and fairy moves. I don't think I want to continue with Unbound, I am genuinely just sick of these retarded boss gauntlets. every sidequest reward feels like shit and is painfully annoying to do, trainers are constantly spamming healing items and having their Pokemon get massive fucking boosts for no fucking reason, the story is pretty shitty and boring, this game reminds me way too much of Soulstones 2 by this point and I just don't want to put up with it anymore.

entirely undeserved victory kek

the two standouts are the rhino, an ice/ground which has hustle 90 atk and loves to spam ice shard with an eviolite
and the other is the lapras ripoff, which has poison heal and a toxic orb and loves spamming protect. the fun part is that poison heal now absorbs poison moves too (thankfully doesn't work on gastro acid for some reason)

i won by sheer luck and my coral hitler boi managed to get the omniboost with ancientpower which let me take out the cloud and the deer, but i had to sacrifice 3 mons to the rhino
also for some reason, going into the hidden cave from before makes the sand turn off which made the starter easier to deal with

first mon sets stealth rocks and one layer of spikes. i don't think there's ANTYHING that can prevent this. you don't get rapid spin, there's two pokemon that learn taunt and both get murked by the lead, no magic coat, nothing.

then you have
>monstune, which has fucking heat wave and some priority ground move, bulky piece of shit too and of course it's so fucking fast for some reason
>oriture, same shit except physical
>meteorock (rock/electric), which felt impossible until i remembered tms were a thing, it's super fast and has weakness policy and levitate but you can just smack down/bulldoze it with something decently bulky
>the ace is sand rush and also hits like a truck on top of having the durability of an abrams tank

and of course, can't forget the stallshit mon, but at least that you can use leech seed on.

i led with coral hitler, 3 tapped the lead, used lavrenvina to take down dozand, dartoad to snipe monstune at low hp, my oriture for meteorock, and then i had to try and set up sun so my starter could beat the worm
of course the ace has a fire resist berry, so i had to use natural gift cheri berry to break it beforehand

he has another fucking snoozee and another ace pokemon i'm basically incapable of outspeeding at this point, but they weren't too bad (the snoozee is glitched because if you kill a mon with the aftereffect of flame burst, they get stuck on-screen). i found dartoad, coral hitler, and the ground/flying dodo mon you get on the route beforehand to be good here

Like Wagie said the quest is optional and the rewards are just an Electirizer + Power Weight + Gold Bottle Cap + Shiny Elekid Egg which are all totally useless for your run anyways.
I will add that this particular quest unlocks another quest just outside Polder Town involving the Terror Granbull that then unlocks a post-game quest with some foreshadowing to some shit that's yet to be added, but that's all irrelevant until some nebulous future update anyways.

I'm trying out the wild spot encounters, there's some good stuff, wished there was a list, rocky spot thus far seems to wield the best mons, Rockruff, Gligar, Sandshrew, Rellor and a few others, didn't test oasis much, but seems like Surskit and Buizel are fairly common there.

Like I said before, these trainers aren't fucking around, hope I can find the purifying chamber soon, because that Shadow Scovillain is something I definitely want to use. Also this game's eventing is a little broken, not Myth levels of broken were the game doesn't even work, but still, sometimes you need to step on specific tiles for things to work.

hardest fight so far, but i guess that should be expected of '6v8 double battle'
thankfully in terms of difficulty, it was indeed walmart zetta/geara, as unlike that retarded shit they aren't actually 1 trainer but 2 individual ones you can beat separately

>the leads will set up light screen and reflect respectively
>the left side has a bunch of super fast and powerful electricmons, with the ace having a base speed of fucking 143
>the right side has a bunch of bulky fire mons, including a multiscale snek and two passho berry fire/rock and fire/ground types (i didn't screenshot one, but it's the fire/ground scorpion evo)
i think it's probably easier to take out the right side first, but the left side just hits too hard.
also, bring golemo, as its the only damn mon that can learn brick break

another kaizo game, another dogshit fire 5th gym

her lead is really fun, it's a tapiblaze (fire/poison) and flearoe (the starter, 118 speed fire/ground type). the flearoe loves to use fake out, and the tapiblaze uses a fucking spread sleep fake move that hits everyone on the field (except her own flearoe, who isn't affected thanks to vital spirit).

she also has
- pupyro (fire/fairy, 120 speed, hits like a nuclear bomb)
- gaslit (fire/ghost, not really that strong but has a very annoying shadow tag in conjunction with all the other bullshit)
- magrizzly (her ace, fire/fighting, just very tanky and powerful)
and her mega is a fire/steel mon with earth eater who has max power sun boosted heat crash against basically everything, and gets trailblaze to become 2fast4me

basically had to use a mix of my starter beating the first half of her team, heal bell to cure its sleep, then skill swapped earth eater off the mega and used the fire/ground scorpion to win

what i had to do was swap to a pokemon with chesto berry, then pivot around to find an opportunity to use heal bell, not really any way around it kek. the ai can't actually input read, but it can read your items, which i suppose is about as bad

not much to say here, other than the AI is really bad at damage calcing here apparently. i cheesed the lead accidentally by getting to low hp, then mega draining off just enough hp so it would keep spamming eq. his fire dino missed the kill on my starter by leaving me at 1 hp. his ace missed the kill again at 1 hp.

I thought we were going to have a Nightmare School sequence again, but it turns out I got this instead, neat. I'm probably calling it a day here.
My thoughts on the game thus far are really good, it's slower paced but it doesn't feel padded out, QoL features are there but they're not needed too much due to the game being fairly generous with the Pokemon it gives you, heck, my Glaceon is a fucking powerhouse that got me through almost every fight in the game by itself, I really, really like this game, it has this unique charm to it and especially if you played Colosseum this game will probably be a good nostalgia trip for ya, if the Empire update doesn't drop tomorrow I'll keep playing it, shame I don't think it's finished yet, so I don't think I can recommend it as a game we can make a MP thread out of yet.
