it hurts because most of the gigantimax forms would have made excellent mega designs. If they stopped pretending to need a new gimmick every region and announced they were bringing megas back with a whole new lineup the hype would have been insane.

I personally think terastalisation was a great idea but the crowns made it look so dumb.
I would've loved to have seen an inverse-typing gimmick that changes the mon's colour, i.e. Marill becomes resistant to Grass and Electric and its colouring is red with black ears.

They really wouldn't. Very few of them work when scaled down to normal size, and many of them have mega forms to begin with..
