HGSS has everything the originals had and more, including better graphics and music instead of the earrape from gens 1 and 2. You can't name a single thing gen 2 does better, objectively. Even your own fucking image shows that Gen 2 has better atmosphere, the moon reflects in the pond, the sprites are actually distinguishable as to what they are instead of being generic ones used for several pokemon, and the map just looks better.
