Best Region, no contest. Lot's of fun pokemon to use and they all feel worth using, and the adventure is just long enough while not being tedious at all.

I never get why people complain about the sea routes. It's the closest we came to an open-world game before the Wild Area and repels are a thing if you're sick of Pelliper. Sure, the long east-west one is kinda samey, but it has the currents, Mirage Island and Pacifidlog to break it up, plus it's completely optional in Ruby and Sapphire anyway.

Except in Gen3, Hoenn Pokémon are extremely common, didn’t have to compete with many KANTOOOOOOOOOOO Pokemon, many were given special snowflake super forms in Gen 6 (slightly more than KANTOOOOOOO got), and Game Freak respects the starters. Thats why Hoeen isn’t hated, while Johto is stuck being the eternal scapogoat.

It's just kinda boring visually, even if you don't have wild Pokemon all the trainers will use water types and water routes have never been good at conveying where you should go so it's easy to bump into a lot of dead ends.

Exactly. Normalfags who refuse to use anything with a sub-500 BST would be surprised to learn that so-called shitmons like Solrock, Kecleon, Swalot, etc. are actually pretty good in game.
