>>55360300It's always been good, it's tied for my favorite mainline game.
>but new mauvile!!It's substantially better and now includes many QOL NPCs, and areas to explore, as opposed to the old version which was just a square to wall through. Who cares that real cities aren't like that, all pokemon towns have always been an abstraction, you're just choosing to take it literally with mauville to confirm a bias you already had before.
>b-b-but battle frontier!!A shit feature that hardly anyone interacted with. I bet most people who cry about it being out never even beat the old one anyways. I swear, if spergs weren't whining about this so loudly, I don't think most people would have even noticed it was removed.
>LATIAS!! THEY HAND YOU LATIAS!!!Catching legendaries isn't fun. You literally just false swipe and sleep, then mash A to spam balls. Soft reseting isn't fun. The only thing that's important for a legendary is for the encounter to feel special, which the Latias encounter does.
Meanwhile, the pros outweigh the cons 10x
>SoaringA fun mechanic that took travel of them menu screen and put it in front of you.
>DexnavOne of the most underrated and best side features of any pokemon game, and I'll always be salty it didn't stick around for later games. Walking into a new route and seeing you already have the crown for it saved a ton of time. That and searching for whatever mon your missing could actually be done with the tools in game instead of in google. Plus, chaining lets you get egg moves and hidden abilities and other fun shit, I actually got a Rock Head/Head Smash Aggron for the first time.
>spec/phys splitThis still remains one of the main reasons I don't go back to replay gen 3, and including it in this game transforms the experience.
>megasdesu I'm not the biggest fan of megas but it's undeniably new content, and people like them.
>art styleUnironically the most beautiful pokemon game on the handhelds.
