gen 1 E4 Lance - he actually became champion later

among those E4 that didnt become champions - maybe Drake or Lucian or Paldeas E4 (since they can have several champion ranks, so its easier)

Though Koga and Bruno both show motivation to move up the ranks, I think Karen's team is stronger

>Gen 3
Drake, stronger and more diverse team than Glacia (between RS and ORAS) who I think would be the only two with interest in becoming champion. It's sad this gen had E4 members with non-fully evolved Pokemon

>Gen 4
No strong opinions. Lucian maybe?

>Gen 5
Marshal, he trained under and looked up to Alder so would have the motivation to go for it. I don't think any other members have interest in champion status, though Caitlin would step up if Marshal didn't

>Gen 6
No strong opinion

>Gen 7
In SM, Hala, if only to inspire Hau to become champion
In USUM, Molayne, a strong team though I don't really think any member is aspiring to be champion

>Gen 8
Raihan, I think the game mentioned he's champion quality

>Gen 9
Hassel, stronger team and I think would be happy to take on the responsibility

If you don’t count powercrept nugen garbage, then Lucian is the strongest E4 member.
Also Volkner is the strongest gym leader and obviously Cynthia is the strongest champion.
This proves Platinum had the best designed important trainer teams

Yes, Cynthia and Red are meant to be the 2 strongest NPCs (even if Reds teams arent quite there yet in terms of competitive strength and IV/EV/items)

Karen is the one with the most diverse team and the power of friendship speech so she'd probably be the best fit. Koga could also work since gym leaders end up as champions more often than E4s.

Kanto is -THE- poison region so it'd be a good fit for a kantonese champion.
