Personally, I disliked Gen5 (especially the friendly rivals and Unova as a region), so a 1:1 remake sounds like a nightmare to me.
Especially if it's made by ILCA, which would make it even worse than it is thanks to their absolute lack of aesthetic sense, as proven by BDSP.

The ILCA chibi art style will completely mismatch the tone of Gen 5.
Black and White and visually stunning as DS games, but if they just do a direct translation of the DS sprites into chibi models the game will look like dog shit.
Also mandatory EXP share will break everything like it did with BDSP.

Gen7 aren't chibi.
Gen6 and LGPE are properly chibi.
Gen1-5 only partially classify as chibi because their purpose isn't to look cute, they're just the most functional choice for how the overworld elements were scaled and for how the camera is placed.

gen V wasn't that good in retrospect, and combined with the fact that you can use most of the gen 5 pokemon in the gen 9 DLC I have 0 desire to replay BW1 or 2 in any form. I really don't want to go through that boring story again.

You say that Unova stans are the main contributors to Johto or Sinnoh's hatewagon, but I can claim that the main contributors of Unova's hatewagon are Johto or Sinnoh stans as well.
