I nominate leaf sheep. They're one of the species of sea slug that steal chloroplasts from the plants they eat, allowing them to photosynthesize and effectively become half plant, half animal

I had the idea that they lean into the 'laughing' aspect and give it a comedian gimmick, where it has a split-evo and either evolves into a chubby comic relief or a lanky straight man - basically like Abbot and Costello.

There are three water type crab/lobster evolutionary lines, along with some non-water types crab evo lines that make sense because unlike octopuses, irl crabs can live in land with some species unable to breath underwater.
An octopus makes more sense as a water/fight type than a overgrown tadpole, an unicorn or a bear.

I imagine most marine pokemon are water types only because it's convenient to have water manipulation when that's what you live in, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have to be. It's not like Flying type which is literal and can be read as "found in the air"

I kinda like type expectations subversions sometimes. It makes things more interesting. you are right, those animals are the last things I'd expect to be water/fighting but that's what makes them memorable and interesting
