>>55376674Grinding used to be worse if you wanted perfect EVs and/or IVs, having to farm berries to reset poor EVs, grinding money for items like calcium, zinc, etc. breeding for specific natures, breeding for IVs, grinding used to suck so much more. Now there's items like silver and gold bottle caps which completely negate IV breeding. Grinding has always been apart of having good comp teams since GSC, same with trading for version exclusives, that's been the entire point of the goddamn franchise since 1996, catch pocket monsters, befriend them, level up with them, trade with other, and train to be the very best like no one ever was.
However, to twittard's credit, almost half of these are locked behind DLC. Yes someone can just trade them to you, but the fact that anyone has to pay for DLC in the first place is ruining this franchise along with a myriad of other problems. And transfermons are garbage too because who conveniently has multiple Landorus' or Tornadus' to trade to you? Oh, and you weren't a fan during the events back in 2018/didn't go to an irl tournament in JPN/KOR to recieve one? Didn't have a copy of ORAS or BW? Welp, sucks to suck then, that's 1/6th of that list you can't even use. At least if you wanted to use Charizard someone could just breed theirs and give you the charmander egg, not too complicated.
