that’s not a regional though. That’s a different Pokémon. It just happens to fill a role similar to Machamp because game Freak didn’t want Unova to “lean on Kanto” and even up DLC tumor that everyone hates like Johto.

Between Vikavolt and regional variants, it doesn't stand out much. Not helping is how the base rock is the same color while Geodude changes color and Graveler has the accessory bits all over. I wonder if it is an issue because Graveler->Golem itself doesn't have much shared elements to change up.

it's not the actual pokemon that gets buffed, it's an uglier version of that pokemon that gets that power creep

I arent think that. Conk with iron fist bulk up drain punch set is far more viable than Machamp. Rock is kinda overrated when you can just have elemental punches.
