>>55393074I think Chestrick would look much better in motion, seeing its animations. Pic related shows a bit more personality than the standard art.
>>55394064>>55395134>>55393577Thanks a lot! My ideas can come from many places. Sometimes there's a specific animal I really like that I want to turn into a pokemon like, or I want to translate a certain concept like rat king -> king rat who commands little rats, or sattelite to orbital cannon. Sometimes I see I lack a certain type, so I try to think about what kind of idea fits that type; I thought of sattelites cause I noticed I have a hard time coming up with steel types for example. Screepture and Phantome were made in a very rare case where I randomly came up with the names and thought they sounded super cool, so I made pokemon to fit them. I think I'm usually pretty bad with names tho. Sometimes I come across a weird natural phenomenon like penitente ice formations and think it could work conceptually. Getting the ideas can be easy, they can come from all over. The hard part is coming up with designs that convey the idea properly.
>>55395176>>55395196>>55395269Not sure what you mean with sonic-y other than the fact it's a bipedal humanoid animal, which is the whole point of the line (seal becoming progressively more human, mirroring the selkie myth). I tried to not go overtly "furry", but I suppose given the concept that's hard to avoid.
I'm not keen on messing with the starters much more, I've spent too much time in the past finetuning them that I'm happy to draw the line so I can focus on making new pokemon, but I'd still love to hear constructive feedback if you have it
