Is this the most underrated pokemon ever? A mythical being the only way to get another pokemon is SOUL.
My only complaint is it’s not allowed in battle facilities when it’s not even that powerful.

I like the lore behind it but it's basically useless outside of that. It's Cosmog and Cosmoem tier.

At least Cosmog and Cosmoem evolve and exist for story purposes. The same cannot be said about Phione at all.

I remember organically discovering phione as a kid. It's something you'd have actually tried in the original games too, since manaphy itself came from an egg. One of my favorites

Phione is worldbuilding even if it isn't explicably told to you in game.
Manaphy eggs come from cold sea areas (where the Ranger games take place) while breeding it gives you Phione because the main series of games take place in warm sea areas.

I might be misremembering but I don’t think the Manaphy egg is in ranger 1 as you just needed a code from the game to get it in Diamond and Pearl. In ranger 2 there’s a Manaphy event in the game but Almia looks like a part of Japan that’s just south of Hokkaido which is what Sinnoh is based on. Regardless I’m pretty sure that Manaphy’s egg washed up on shore from elsewhere.
