Picrel is ~$200, supports GB/GBC/GBA cartridges natively, and even supports link cable for both gens.

This is a build it yourself Gameboy Color FPGA device. $70 for the parts but another $10 for the shell custom fit for the device and another $5 for buttons and membranes.

If you do go for the Analog Pocket (which they just announced all preorders have been fulfilled and they are now shipping within 24 hours.) Be aware that sleep mode and save states on the Gen III games can lead to data loss.

$100 isn't bad at all for a GBC. Also point still stands that Japanese GBC imports are way cheaper. I just checked the listings and saw like three JPN GBCs for under $40.

No, they go from between $60-$70. They have been $50+ since the pandemic. They are popular for mods. You better get yours while you still can since they are getting gutted for the FOTM youtuber chink mod.
