N gets Reshiram, protag gets Zekrom, no exceptions. Anyone who claims otherwise is a flat out brainlet.

Additionally, Reshiram can only win against Zekrom when fighting in the name of cold, hard, OBJECTIVE truth.
N was led to believe that Pokemon and humans could not co-exist and fought in that false truth's name. Reshiram resonated with his belief, but ultimately lost to Zekrom and the player's ideals in harmony between Pokémon and humans, because the actual, objective truth is that Pokemon and humans were made by Arceus to co-exist.
N had to be taught this new truth, and then left on a journey of discovery to locate more objective truths and protect and teach them.
