I recently beat brilliant diamond and now I'm playing platinum and I have to say that platinum is about 100x harder.
They are no where near being the same game.

BDSP was harder for me, but that's because I imposed restrictions on myself (minimum friendship, level caps, no items, etc). If I was doing a casual playthrough, I'd think Platinum was harder.

This is the main division: "QoL" choices.
The original didn't have level caps, shared exp, mints, ability pills, and more.
The original barely introduced a few new moves, mulch for easy berry growing, and the split anybody knows if it played after Gen 4.

Different products in different eras.
