>>55410765well trends exist for a reason, yeah, but i don't think it's fair to judge someone for the trends of a group they're from. i've met a few cool muslims in my life, along with buddhists, hindus, etc etc. people can just be cool regardless of their religious beliefs, honestly.
i know that abuse rates can be high among gay and (though not mentioned here) trans individuals, but i don't think it's entirely fair to say they're a product of abuse entirely. if homosexuality is a product of being abused by a gay person, where did the original gay come from?
people are just shitty sometimes, unfortunately. some people shouldn't be parents. my dad's cool as fuck and i love him, even if we disagree on a lot of things. i have it a lot better than some people, that's for sure.
despite my criticisms of abrahamic religions, i don't really have anything against the believers themselves, 9/10 times. i think something a lot of christians in particular miss is that jesus was never trying to force anyone to believe in him. he was just an all around good person who helped people that nobody else cared about, and that kindness gained him a huge following in an era where stepping out of line got you executed in brutal ways(which was ultimately his fate, tragically. i won't say if he lived again or not, but the romans were assholes for killing him at all).
i typically don't care for the modern lgbt movement, honestly. i hate the trend of wearing your gay/non-straightness as a badge. it's like, dude, shut up. nobody cares. it literally, and i cannot stress this enough, does not matter who you want to marry unless you're actually trying to marry/date someone; outside of that situation i couldn't give less of a fuck. it doesn't matter, it shouldn't matter, everyone should just shut up and move on. as long as both parties are of legal age, who cares?
