>>55419715Also I might as well say this now, people didn't derail discussion about how slow the games were because a. the threads weren't specifically about why people didn't like them like this one is and b. they were the most current Pokemon game so there was more value to them.
Yeah the games were slow, but you just had to put up with it because they were what everyone was playing, battling and trading in, while Gen 3 was outdated, so even if you preferred aspects of Gen 3 there was no reason to go into a thread and say "Gen 3 was better" because, at the time, that was just factually not true when Gen 4 had so much more to offer.
Nowadays though, Gen 3 and Gen 4 are both outdated, and the only thing they can offer is their single player experiences, so people will discuss the stuff that impacts that and also compare them on more even ground.
DPPt is slow and now it no longer has the edge it once had that made you have to put up with that slow pacing, so it's brought to the forefront - why am I playing this slow ass game when I could be playing any other Pokemon game with much faster battles and movement?
