It's funny because that's like the only criticism of FRLG (other than the music sucking), and then they did it again.
HGSS (a much more flawed game) at least let you have some things that would've evolved naturally like Aipom, Yanma, Tangela, and Lickitung, and you got the necessary stones in ORAS for Froslass and Gallade.

It's been a long while but I think the only cross-gen evo you can't get in ORAS' main story is Dusknoir.

yeah you can't get the reaper cloth until post-game but they did add Dusknoir to the Hoenn region pokedex along with all the other gen 4 evolutions and pre-evos. There's not a lot of praise I have for ORAS but retroactively adding these pokemon to the native dex is one thing I liked.

The thing is, pokemon remakes aren't just remakes, they're the new updated version of the previous game for current gen. They're designed to be comparable with the other games of that gen. They're supposed to be the definitive version of not just the game, but that particular region.
At least that was true until the Sinnoh remakes
